Queen Anne’s County MD250 Committee Hosts Revolutionary Spirits at Cult Classic Brewing

The Queen Anne’s County MD250 Committee invites the community to step back into the revolutionary era during Revolutionary Spirits, a free afternoon exploring the people, places and ideas that helped shape the American Revolution.

The event will be held Saturday, September 19, from 2-4 p.m. at Cult Classic Brewing, 1169 Shopping Center Road in Stevensville.

As part of Queen Anne’s County’s ongoing Maryland 250 commemoration, Revolutionary Spirits will offer a unique look at the nation’s founding through film, history and conversation.

The program will include a screening of selected moments from Ken Burns’ documentary The American Revolution, followed by a presentation from Meghann Mahoney, PhD, titled “American Made: Distilling the Revolution.”

Mahoney’s presentation will explore the role of spirits and distilling during the revolutionary era and how they intersected with the people, culture and events surrounding America’s fight for independence.

Admission to Revolutionary Spirits is free, but tickets are required and must be reserved in advance at CultTickets.com.

Colonial-inspired cocktails, beer and other beverages will be available for purchase during the event.

Revolutionary Spirits is part of Queen Anne’s County’s participation in Maryland 250, a statewide commemoration recognizing the 250th anniversary of the United States and providing opportunities to explore the people, places and stories that shaped Maryland and the nation.
