*TRAFFIC ALERT* Resurfacing US 40/Pulaski Highway in Eastern Harford County Next Week
(September 8, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface sections of 1.5 miles of US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between Long Bar Harbor Road and MD 543 (Creswell Road) in eastern Harford County beginning as soon as Sunday night, September 13. The work will continue through late October, weather permitting.
Crews will work overnights, 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sundays–Thursdays. Work includes asphalt patching, milling and resurfacing pavement and applying new pavement markings where needed along segments in both directions of Pulaski Highway.
Motorists should plan for extra travel time along Pulaski Highway in the work zone. During work hours, there will be single- and double-lane closures in effect overnight where necessary. In case of inclement weather, paving work will continue the next possible weeknight. The contractor for the $1.2 million paving work is Allan Myers MD Inc. of Fallston.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits and move over if possible. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
