(September 28, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has begun resurfacing 2.5 miles of westbound US 50 (Ocean Gateway) between Barber Road and Sanderstown Road in Trappe, Talbot County. Work includes milling, paving, striping and installation of new reflective pavement markings and edge line rumble strips.
Drivers will see single closures during work hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Completion is expected by mid-November.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
