MD 225 sign
(October 6, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface MD 225 (Hawthorne Road) between Marshalls Corner Road and Mitchell Road starting Thursda night October 8. The project is expected to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect nighttime single-lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Contractor F. O. Day Company Inc. of Rockville will use temporary traffic signs and barrels to guide drivers through work zone.

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Drivers should obey all posted speed limits and can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
